I think I'm going on a smoothie spree, this week I've been wanting to make Chocolate Banana Smoothie. When I reached home last evening my dad has brought home Strawberries and thanks to my grandmother we ALWAYS have banana at home and voilà the Strawberry and Banana Smoothie.
It so happens that I've started making these smoothies in the morning, I wake up quite early for Yoga and by the time I'm done I'm usually hungry and I don't want to wait for breakfast to be done and I've been off coffee for a while now. So, Smoothies seem to be an ideal choice.
Okay, enough about smoothies, I feel like there is so much that I have to talk to you guys about! This week I attended a friends big fat Indian wedding! This is the first wedding I have attended after I started food blogging, when I sat in front of the traditional banana leaf meal, and started tasting a few of the dishes there and couldn't help wonder how they had made it, what were the ingredients in the dessert or the curry that was served. After a glorious meal all I wanted to do was post those different recipes on my blog and made a mental note to ask my friend for the delicious lunch menu.
One more story and then I'll post the recipe. I usually shoot the pictures in the balcony in the mornings it has beautiful light streaming in but no direct sunlight so it works well in my favour. I have a set up that goes up when I shoot, it probably looks weird for anyone who has no clue what I'm doing. Also, my neighbour's front door opens to my balcony and they happen to have guests at home. As usual I went up to the balcony with all my props and camera and began clicking pictures as usual, moving the fruits around. Only when I was almost done did I realise that there were people looking at me trying to figure out what I was up to ( At this point my neighbours know but it was all new for their guests which is basically me 6 months ago) as soon as they realised I knew, they looked completely embarrassed and simply walked back in. It was pretty hilarious when it happened.
So, as promised here is the recipe for the delicious Strawberry and Banana Smoothie.
- Add the strawberries (See notes) and break the banana into chunks and into the blender
- Add the milk and ice cubes and blend and serve
- Don't forget to remove the strawberry leaf before adding it to the blender.
- If in case you have frozen fruits then you can exclude the ice cubes
- If you feel you need sugar when the smoothie is done, please feel free to add sugar, I like the sour taste of the strawberry that's why no sugar for this smoothie.
